Oy...

there are no "Official Starters". Not everyone can just walk to a Professor's lab and ask for a pokemon, like the anime suggests. Note how in every game you get your starter from wherever for a reason rather than a promotion.

RBGY: Family friends with Oak
GSC: Offered a job (with no pay -_-)
RSE: Saved Birch's life
PC: Had them forever
XD: Dad gave him to you
DPPt: Stole Them

99% of Pokemon Trainers have to catch their starters in the wild and hope it clicks, or get aid from a fellow trainer or maybe a Ranger. Wally is proof of this.

I approve these pokemon, but there is no such thing as a "Starter" status.
